torklift with a sway bar

trailer to tow east

Traded an 03 qc 2500 for a 06 3500 mega cab. Tow a 31 foot 5th wheel weighing in about 8500 lbs. 1st, Longer wheel base makes a difference with the ride big time. The extra length really helps with the oscillations on concrete roads.

Also upgraded to a Brake smart controller... ... ... ..... ain't going back to the old one any time soon. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much nicer braking.

Added the jake exhaust brake to the 06. Very nice and a big difference in braking. I am actually looking forward to towing down some slopes.

All in All, very pleased with the Mega Cab and glad I made the switch, kids who are in the back seat are happy too.

Just my 2 cents.

So that being a short bed, what hitch do you have?... regular slider or the automatic one?

That SB is 3" shorter than my 2nd gen shortbed and I have a regular hitch with a 10" pin extention on the trailer... .

If I was to get that truck, I'd get the auto slider.....

I use a reese slider. Have not found this to be a problem with either truck. only come close to the cab in really tight turns like backing into a space. Moving thge slider manually has not been an issue.
