Has any body used the 2 1/2 inch leveling kit? Do you need to change shocks or anything else or is the 2 inch the better way to go. I also saw the kits on ebay for $69. free shipping Big Bobs or something. What product do you guys recommend. Thanks for the input Jeff 2007 quad 5. 9 6 speed stock no muffler p. s. how do you fill out your sig.

To fillout your sig go into the "discussion forums" dropdown at the top of the page and click on "user control panel". From there, click on "edit signature" which is on the left side of the page. Make sure you save it after you are done.

I don't know from experience but have read a number of times that with a 2 inch leveling kit you probably want to go with longer shocks. Geno's Garage has a nice set of Bilstens that are silver and black and are designed to go with a 2" leveling kit. Good luck.

The KORE HD leveling kit is as good as the best out there. It is normally 899 but is on special at the KORE website for 335. I bought 3... seriously and I convinced two of my buddies to try them out and they cant believe what a difference they make. It is like a Smarty for your suspension or whatever dramatic analogy that you can relate with;0. I know those cheapies are tempting but I have had them and they suck longterm... they special is internet only. My $0. 02

That is a great offer! Usually you can not get the coils alone for under $500. Tempting.

This KORE kit is about $1000 less than another system I was looking at - makes it obvious which to go with.

My question is, will this clear 35's on stock wheels? I have heard both sides of the story - some say yes, some say no. How about from someone who has installed this KORE HD kit? Are you running 35's? Any issues?

If you stay with stock or close to stock back spacing on the wheels, 35" tires will fit witha 2. 5" leveling kit.

The one thing I see missing in the kit is trackbar relocation. Unless that is addressed it will shift your axle out of line with the rear. It might be there but there is no mention of it.

Thtas a good price. I may have to order one also. :)

Will the Kore leveling kit that's on sale fit the 2nd gen trucks?

Edit: Disregard question, I found it on their website

i have put a leveling kit on all my trucks an have never put shocks an never had a problem. An i do everyhing in my truck. dont waste the money. use the money to buy fuel!!!!

I had the spacers as part of a "cheaper" lift kit on my 1/2 ton. Never had any problems as far as performance.

Jeff100-

Stay away from the spacers as they will have a different effect on your stock suspension. Basically a level kit via a new coil spring is safer for your vehicle as it is variable and will have no effect on the dynamics of your suspension. Note: A level kit is not only lifting your truck but it will improve your ... big time. I would suggest that you call companies like Kore or Lorenz (top two) and ask them to explain the differences of a level block vs. a variable rate coil. I am running the Lorenz kit and feel its probably the best upgrade I have done thus far. Good luck!!

Jeff100, to answer your original question. I would go with the 2" block if you have a 3500. We did the 2. 5" spacers on my girlfriends 3500 and they just over-leveled it. It seems to have settled pretty close to level now, but we wish we had gone 2". The stock shocks are still on it, as is all the other stock stuff. The truck drives no differently and we are running 35's on the stock wheels. They rub at full lock on the link arms, but nowhere else. My $. 02, buy a set on ebay for $75, shipping included by the way, and see what you think. If you want to upgrade in the future you can always sell the spacers to the guy down the block.

Jeff100-

Thanks to Sean at Lorenz I was able to confirm with him my statement of using coils vs. the stock spring and spacers.

Per Lorenz... ... ... .

"2" spacer will over compress an OEM coil, over time, sooner rather than later, if a guy uses the truck on anything but a butter smooth surface he will fatigue the coil. Running in and out of a driveway overspeed bumps, or even on a not so perfect freeway, will put a strain on the stock coils that they were not intended to take. Our heavy trucks will cycle through the travel fairly easily. Every cycle using spacers fatigues the OEM coils. Over time they will submit and loose ride hight and spring rate.

Our coils are designed to cycle through the travel including the last 2". They won't fatigue, lose spring rate or otherwise fail. "

Jeff if you think about it makes a lot of sense. As I stated before the difference ride is well worth the investment. And as far as the claim to stick with stock shocks... I think you should replace them. This is my third truck that I have changed shocks based upon poor ride quality. Try it out and you will see for yourself.

does the kore kit come with anything to correct the side to side movement when the axle is dropped? (adjustable track bar?)

Or is the movement not enough to mess with it?
