I will have a REAL CREW CAB when it over. Oo. Plus a quadcab too. I took it to Mark Bayer to stretch it 36" to make it a 4 door plus quadcab. Here is a pic of what it will look like. I'll keep posting pictures as it comes together. I don't know what's worse, no truck for two months, driving a Chevy gasser, or the thought of them cutting my preciuos truck in half!!! :{ :eek: :eek: :(

I was going to just do a four door thing, but when i got there yesterday AM and looked at this one, I had to go all the way. How much does it run, well, Let's just say it is less than the trade difference for a new one that is not near as roomy. I'm not too thrilled with the looks of the 3rd gen SRW, and I love this truck, so this was the only real option. BTW, mines a 2500, not a 3500 like the pic. While I was there, I saw another one in the works, so I was able to see the workmanship and quality of material. Let me tell you this, he uses real steel, no wimpy thin stuff here. I feel like I left one of my kids at camp for the summer though. :{ But when they are done it will be an awesome rig for our trip to SoCal in Dec. :cool:

My daughter is 13 now and the back of the QC is getting tight for her on those X-Country trips to Y-Stone & G-Canyon etc. We always wanted to be able to bring a friend of her's too . . . . . :{ I want on too :{

I can see it now explaining to wifey why we need to do it :-{} :(

Here is a picture before I drove to Minn. and then a picture of what they have done so far. Can you say looooong wheelbase :eek: forget those front parking spots at Walmart!! :( But we have lots of room here in TX. Please note the TDR sticker on the rear window :cool: . The seat setup will be a full size split seat like the front one in middle row and the stock quadcab seat in the rear. I'll be able to seat 8 if I need to. :eek: Now that's a CREWCAB!! More pics as things progress. Only 8 more weeks :{ :{ :{ :(

That is really cool! Do they leave the QC doors in place, or weld them shut? I wonder where they get the new/rear doors from. I might drop by Bayer sometime soon to see how this project is coming along and see if I can talk the Wife into the same thing.

DLausche, I replied to your PM. They will do it how ever you want Club cab style or quad cab style, which is what I'm getting. The new doors are front doors that they cut down square and reskin, as far as the window and all the hardware ??????. Call Mark, I'm sure he'll answer any ????s

There's no limit, people will get what they want. Well, I just jumped in cause I'm sitting at Dave's Diesel in Angola, IN, looking at a 97 F350 PSD Dually. Guy wanted to be able to take the whole team when he went a racin. Stretched that puppy out to a three seater. Uses it to haul his race car trailer to races. I thought my 99 Ram 3500 QC Dually stretched with a RoadMaster Cab Extension was long, shows what I know. Yours looks like a Crew Cab and a half to me. Bet it will be a great ride for the whole family.

Cheers,

Jay I think that these pics are being sent to him via the net, I don't think he's actually taking them. :confused:

I agree, closer/higher res/more detailed pics would be nice! Oo.

Ah! Thanks for the clarification.

We need a photographer who's had some experience as a media photog. Some of those people can get pictures of anything! ;)

Anxious to see the end result,

-Jay

The smaller pic is in bitmap format and even though it small it was over 5mb when I first opened it. I'll see if I can get them to send more and better pictures.

I see Loretta Mitchell's truck running around here all the time and its actually starting to look normal to me. The only thing I don't like about hers is its a short bed, but that does keep the wheelbase a little more normal.

Any new news on this project? I'd like to see it when it's finished if at all possible. I'll bet it is hard waiting for it to be done these final weeks of the project.
