I installed 2. 5" lift springs on my truck. It developed a vibration so I removed the front driveshaft and it went away. I then discovered what "death wobble" was. After adjusting the caster positive, the wobble went away. Thinking the caster adjustment may have resolved any pinion angle issues, I reinstalled the driveshaft (after having new joints installed and the cv joint rebuilt). The vibration is still there. I made a minor adjustment of the caster back toward the negative in an effort to relax the pinion angle and no change. I understand that caster and pinion angle go hand-in-hand and are not independently adjustable but should I jeapardize getting the wobble back to solve a vibration? Is the pinion angle so sensitive that a 2. 5" lift makes this much difference? Has anyone had a similar experience?
These problems started immediately after the lift install. The truck has been aligned and no other front end components are worn. I've got brand new tires too. I'm completely baffled.
The truck is an '02 2500 CTD 4x4 Quad Cab Short bed auto w/4:10s
Other than a sound system and tinted windows, I've done nothing else to it.
Any ideas on what my next course of action should be?
