2.5 liter jeep turbo diesel

Okay, I have a question for all you guys out there with endless resources to look up information on diesel engines...



I was wondering if anyone has any hard data/specs on this engine... I have found several sites talking about how great it is... but I want to know the hard facts... bore, stroke, # of valves per cylinder, type of injection pump, weight, length, type of turbo, etc...

I've seen them in Europe in Cherokees. . pretty cool to see a TD Jeep with manual gearbox! And, at around $5/gallon for diesel, if the engine was a pig, they wouldn't get sold over there... lots of diesel vehicle choices.

diesel powered Grand Cherokee

There was a Bosch representative over at the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza at Terre Haute, IN that had a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee on display over there that had a 2. 7 liter CRD (Common Rail Direct Injection) 5-cylinder Mercedes (well, Daimler Chrysler) diesel in it. It looked like a pretty nice setup. It was actually pretty quiet running too. It had a wastegate turbo on it. The specs are as follows:
