Well to make a long story short, I decided to change the oil in the Getrag today. Five quarts of Mobil 1 in hand with my handy dandy one quart oil pump, and I was ready to go.
Colder than a witch's teat out and I slide under only to find the drain plug stripped (almost perfectly round) thanks to the Stealer two years ago (I had more money than time back then). Oh well, if I can't drain and refill, the least I can do is add that extra quart through the top PTO bolt.
Two and half quarts! That's right, the Stealer put only 2. 5 quarts in when they filled it. It pisses me off even more because I gave them 5 quarts of Mobil 1.
The truck has seen less than 3000 miles in the last two years (I know it's a travesty) and less than 5000 since the rebuild in 1997.
Should I make a stink about this to the Stealer and make them change the plug?
TIA,
Mike O.
P. S. WOW does it shift smoother with all that oil!
