Hello everybody this is Randy from Indiana, sorry it took so long to get these results but our labs busy season had started and i had to slip it in when I could. So i tested a Kendall GT-1 two cylce oil bought from Hires auto parts and compared it to our TDR-S product. The results are as follows: I treated the fuel with one once of two-cycle oil per ten gallons of diesel fuel or 700ppm's per gallon.

The base fuel had a HFRR of 520um which is ASTM spec

The fuel with the two-cycle oil had HFRR of 470um.

The fuel treated with the TDR-S had a HFRR of 425um

So the answer to some of your questions is yes the two-cycle oil does lubricate your engines, but if you were to put any cetane in to the fuel it would negatively affect the lubricity. I am also concerned with newer diesel engines coming on to the market that the tolerances for the new injectors are going to have smaller openings so any added carbon build-up will cause issues. In fact our company was invited to attend a meeting in California from ASTM to discuss injector carbon build-up issues.

I am not Randy but TDR -S is one of Amalgamated's fuel additives. They also make the one I use the TDR-WDA (s=summer w=winter). Several years ago they did a write up in the magazine about fuel additives and some of the pros and cons. What can affect the performance of an additive what to look for when buying one as some additives have ingrediants that actualy cancel each other out. The TDR blend was one they put together for the TDR group shortly after the article came out. They usually make additives for fuel suppliers and large fleets. In fact at first you could only buy it in 5 gal pails 30 or 50 gallon drums. A 5 gal pail would treat about 1500+ gallons of fuel so for many that was more than they needed for a year. However now they do make it in smaller quantities. I for one have been very happy with their products.

I use TDR-S in every tank and like the prod. some say all additives are snake oil. Its my truck my money and its my peace of mind. Its not going to make a MPG difference (at least for me)but it's quiet. no smoke (not that it did before) But ive seen the difference in injectors some with no additive some with additive. From the local cummins dealer and I can tell you from looking at the difference im going to run an additive its just that Ive used allot of them and TDR-S or some sort of Amalgamated product is what Im going to use
