I bought a 2 gauge pillar from Genos and have a few ?'s. It says to cut off the grab handle to fit the gauge pod over it. I did this ( almost cried) but I'm wondering if it is really needed. Also I'm looking for the place to put the boost bolt. The instructions are kind of dark :) Thanks. Chris

just got done putting in my boost bolt this morning. it goes in the very front of the intake plate. use the bolt nearest the head, not the one "away". it was easier to access the bolt by unplugging the #1 injector connector.

as far as the 'a' pillar mount, i cant help you. i am going with the autometer dash mount pod #15020. i can't live without my grab handle.

Thanks. I just ran back outside to the garage and plugged in the boost bolt. The DiProcols look real good at night. I'll have to wait until I find someone to help me tap the exhaust manifold for the EGT sensor. All the wires are ran. I ended up just using the A pillar mount by itself. Looks great. Thanks!

I like the way the DiProcals look at night also, except they were quite a bit brighter than the factory gauges.

A put a resistor in series with them. Now they are the same brightness.

Hi; I just ordered a 05 and will be putting in the guages. Ive done this to the last 2 CTD ive had. I am a little concerned when you have to put a resister in the program. Why dont the manifacture do it? Also what guages match the white dodge gauges.

Gauge installation

I had ATS Diesel intall my gauges. Sure glad I did. It ain't a simple installation, folks, unless you're really into that sort of thing. I'd rather hire it done than go throught the brain damage involved in doing it myself.

Here are some instructions for the install: http://i.b5z.net/i/u/265866/i/2003_Dodge.pdf

I don't think you have to be real fussy about where the boost bolt goes. I have seen installs where the old moulding was saved and they looked pretty bad. Be careful torqueing down that boost bolt.

I too thought I couldn't do without the grab handles. Took me about two days to get comfortable without them. However, I do have Westin rails to step up on. They make a huge difference.

While it isn't a 15 minute job, it really is a straight forward install. I did my own after I was told it would be $150-300 to do the pyro alone (not including gages).

I followed the instructions posted here on TDR.

I took my time and made sure I was doing what was said to be done.

It took about two hours to mount and wire the gages

It took about one hour to plumb the boost bolt and tubing

It took about 2 hours to drill and tap the TC for the pyrometer.

If you don't feel comfortable with had tools, don't try this. If you are comfortable and wan't to learn more about your truck, give this a try. You'll be proud of your accomplishment and will save a lot of money.

You made my point precisely, Juan! I admire mechanically-inclined folks who have the tools and time to get the job done. I would get half-way into the job and bog down because I didn't have the right tool or something. I took my work to ATS and made a few bucks while they did the install. What took them a couple of hours would have taken me a couple of days.
