Whats Been Everyones Experience With These Kits? Do You Need To Align The Frontend After Installation? Which One Is The Best?

I'll second that. Definitely go in and get your alignment fixed after installing the leveling kit. Otherwise, the outer edge of your front tires will wear prematurely. Trust me, I learned the hard way and then went to get my alignment fixed.

You can pick up a leveling kit off of E-bay from less than $100 bucks. I bought mine there two years ago. Been happy with it ever since. You can check my signature for before and after pics of installing a leveling kit and 35 inch tires.

I have done a 2" leveling kit on my 04. 5 and 06. I never got them re alignment. My first set of tires lasted 60k on the 04. 5 rotated every 5k. Never showed any sign of premature wear. My 06 has 15k same thing...

First off what are you using your truck for? There are several ways in which to level one of these beast out. One way is spacers whether it be steel or poly. This is the cheap way and wont help if you have a large bumper or a winch. If you are planning on adding any additional weight to the front new stronger spring are in high recomendation. Skyjacker, Super Springs, KORE, Donahue, ETC make different kits. I like the supersprings personally. They dont lengthen the spring but they make it beafier. GET AN ALIGNMENT FOR ANY FRONT END GEOMETRY CHANGING WORK!!!!! :)

Yes, get it re-aligned. Even though the Dodge 5 link setup only allows for changes in caster and toe, there is a good possibility that the caster will change (negatively) if spacers or taller springs are added. If your caster angle is too negative, you will notice more bump steer, wandering and your steering wheel won't return to center easily. Also, make sure that the caster angle is dead on exact between the two sides. Mine wasn't originally (installer fault), and the steering wheel sat just slightly to the right. Took me forever to convince them that a difference in caster between sides will cause an offset steering wheel.

Personally, I would install leveling springs. Worth the $$.

What Do You Mean By Leveling Springs, are You Talking About For The Rear?

Leveling springs are taller replacement coil springs used to bring the front up about 2" so the truck sits level.

I have heard these D25 springs mentioned often. Who makes this spring and where can they be purchased? I am on the fence with how to level my front. I am considering the Kore kit, but don't really want to shell out $550 to level the front. I also don't want to go the $100 route and just do a spacer. I would like to get a bit better ride and level the front and maybe a new spring is the way to go????

Thanks,

Brent

Sean,

If I went with your kit, how much of a pounding would I take with the 23% springs? I have the intentions of adding a winch, and maybe a bumper also, but well down the road from the suspension upgrade. Would the truck just beat me to death running the 23% spring with no winch/bumper additions? I just don't want to get stuck with the 6% spring and than have to upgrade for the added weight later on. Is this spring what they call a D25?

Brent

I ran the 23% coil on my personal truck before the Progressive IR coils were designed. You'd feel the difference if you ran them side by side. The rear end of the truck, with the OEM leafs have more of a jolt than the 23% coil springs.

I really want to take care of all of my clients. If the 6% didn't work for you down the road, we could trade them out for the 23% coils at half price. You pick up the shipping, and I'd make it happen.

All of my coils use considerably more steel than the D25 coil. Our coils won't sack out or loose hieght over the years.

Not trying to step on anyones feet here just trying to get options out there. I will admit the D25 are for limited heavy duty beating and I called Skyjacker two weeks ago and asked about using the D25 to level a customers truck that had a snow plow on it and they said they would sag after a while due to the extra weight from a winch bumber or plow. We turned to super springs new coil spring set up and it worked great. Look into them at www.supersprings.com . Although you wouldnt have the tech or sales support that you would from a company like KORE or Lorenz, that way may save you some dough.

There aren't any hard feeling or toes being stepped on over here. You said it well. When all the options are out there I'm confident our products will shine.

Let me give a little food for thought. There are a couple ways to get an increased spring rate when working with coil springs.

You can add more material, use thicker material, and keep the windings tight. Obviously the cost is higher due to the extra windings and thicker material, but more material and tight windings lead to a better, longer lasting spring.

Another approach to increasing spring rate would be to use less/thinner material, and stretch out the winding. This is how you get a spring that won't stand up to years of use, but the up front costs are cut down.

So, a coil can have the same "higher" rate, but won't last as long simply because of the design parameters. Our designs are the best in the business. We don't save on material costs (we use thicker material and stuff more of it into our design), we don't save on freight (more material = a heavier product), and we don't cut cost with regards to labor. Our components are American made (Not North American Made). We heat treat, do they?

Hey Guys Thanks For The Info, I Don't Plan On Having A Big Bumper Or Anything Of That Nature I Just Want To Level My Front And Keep The Same "feel " That I Currently Have Stock ,i'm Also On A Budget Here To.

Thanks Again
