I have received a number of e-mail regarding the 2" lift that I had done to my 96 2wd Ram. As some of you know, there are not alot of options out there for doing this as they can not handle the wieght of our cummins. I went over to the shop that did the work today, as they still are waiting for the rear bolts to install the blocks on my rear end. When I get everything done I will post some pics of everything. The lift was achieved without any modification to the stock A arms, which means it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. They got the lift by simply installing a larger spring. This originally got me 2" but I'm thinking after everything has settled in it is more like 1. 5". It's not alot, but it does pretty nice, and when you couple it with the RS9000's, the ride is much smoother:). The company, Fabtech, is no considering making an actual spring kit with the its own part number, largely in part from interest generated here on this site. I was hoping to get some better engineering into it to keep the lift at 2", preferrably 3". I have installed 265x75 tires and it fills out the well nicely. (All you 4x4 with 315's please keep quiet:D :D )

I have put almost 1400 miles on it since the install and have had no alignment problems at all, although it does need to be readjusted from stuff settling in.

Those that are interested in having this done (So Cal area) or ordering the parts so you can do it yourself or have a shop do it are encouraged to call Aggressive Suspensions, Fullerton CA. (714) 870-9422- Ask for Darren Let them know of your interest in an engineered kit, as he thought there wasn't any market for it. I told him that's becuase he didn't know of the TDR!!

Cheers-

Kevin:)

Thanks for the info. I searched for a while to find 2" springs for the front after I added the Reunel ft bumper. i ended up getting a set of custom coils from Valley Spring in Dixon CA. You are right, an engineered kit would have saved a lot of phone calls. the RS 9000's on setting four is just right for high speed wash-board roads.

I'm gonna have to get another set made as I am looking for a little more air in the front. I think 2. 5 " will do just fine... temporarily

Jeff- Keep me posted on what you find out, while I am fairly happy with what I have now I would like to go a bit taller. I've been warned though that if I go much over 2" it will cause alignment trouble. That's why Darren was suggesting the custom A arms. I just don't want to sepnd that kind of money on it ($1500+).

Thanks-

Kev

I was referred to another place by Doestch-shocks. I dont remember the name, but I will track it down. The person who referred me said that this coil place can make coils for any application. I'm probably going to use valley spring again because they already have the profile of my current spring, so they should be able to dial them in exactly. They charged me $215 last time. Just curious, what is your height between the fenders and the ground? Currently, mine is 36 1/2 on the passenger and 35 3/4 ont he drivers (level ground, 1/2 tank of fuel)

Got it

Sorry Jeff,

Lost the thread for a minute. I measured mine and with a 3/4 tank fuel on level ground I measure out at 36 1/2" from the lip to the ground. When I originally took delivery of the truck after the mods, it was at 37 1/4". So I guess it should stay put about now. My rear is still actuall stock til next week when they get the new U bolts in. I'll keep you posted.
