Running Transmission in Tow/Haul Mode

Oil seperator question

I have the Jr and wanted to add the GDP 2 micron filter set up. I normally only run in economy (timing only, right?). GDP replied to me and told me that if my truck was mostly stock I could run the 2 micron on the stock pump without issue. Not sure what 'mostly' means but wondering if running the Jr in tow or performance should be a concern. Any input?

Just wonder what 2 micro set up you are thinking about ??? And how money are we talking for the extra filters????

I wouldn't trust the stock pump to push enough fuel through a 2 micron filter. Why not add a gauge or low psi warning light along with the 2 micron filter and then be prepared to upgrade to a better pump if/when necessary?

Better filtration is always good. The Jr is supposed to work on stock trucks and not exceed their limits. The in tank pump which you have is better than the engine mounted pump.

no problem on any setting. install a gauge on the cp3 and change the filter when the pressure drops to one pound under load

I ran a Caterpillar 2 micron fuel filter just outside of my auxillary fuel tank for a number of years without any problems, at all. That was with the stock pump mounted on the back of the stock fuel filter housing. For quite awhile, I, also, ran a Van Aaken C-3. 2 (duration-only box) along with the tone ring mod to alter timing. Still had no issues with the fuel pumps ability to do its job. I then installed a Glacier Diesel Walbro 392 pump system thinking that the stock pump had to be at its limit & noticed no difference in engine performance with the change.

In my opinion, I wouldn't be too concerned running the 2 micron filter from my experiences.

I've been running the GDP twin Fuel/Water system for about a year now with a stock CP3. NO PROBLEMS! I removed the old fuel filter housing and have made a "few" mods (WIF light is back working) Feel free to call me if you want. GDP is a great company to deal with.

I run a cat 2 mic f/f and a baldwin 5 mic in the stock can. I run a flashpac 3805 on perf. (137 hp) no problems yet with flow. This is on a stock lp with 100,000 miles on it.

I have a Stanadyne FM1000 with a Donaldson 2 micron filter between the stock filter and CP3. I can easily pull the factory pump to zero with stock software. I wouldn't trust the stock pump with a 2 micron filter. I would also run a gauge regardless of your step up.
