the title says it all, while driving back from maine yesterday towing a 5k camper ,doing 70 on the interstate truck decides to downshift ... . first to drive for a split second, then 2:eek::eek:truck slowed in a hurry... then all back to normal... . truck seems to be ok ... sounds MEAN at that rpm... ..... i had to slam on the brakes about 100 miles earlier because this lady thought a log truck was coming into her lane,we were in the fast lane of course... after that i had a hard fuel pedal and i had to shift it like a standard. take off in 1 ,pop it in neutral... back to drive and it would shift to the next gear most of the time... ... jumped in it last night to bring my trailer to a job and no problems?? and oh yeah... . no codes

truck has 192k now... . what the hell happened????

marcel

gone for the day... will post tonight

btw---smarty on 2... .comp 2x5

The only thing that would make the fuel pedal harder is the throttle pressure cable that attaches to the trans. Maybe something happened to the valvebody?

I would pull the valve body and look for metal dust in it and in the pan. Mine did some weird stuff a couple of weeks ago and had to replace the solenoid.

Where did you go to in Maine? We just got back from the Bangor area. Can't help with the transmission, I do like my 5 speed though:-laf
