I am doing some front end work with my truck and I had a question for the masses. Which would you choose or which did you choose? How is it holding up? Was there any change to the ride? I am also adding Bilstein's on all corners, a DSS and Air Lift on the back. The difference in cost between the Coils and the Spacers is $250. I am lifting the front to accommodate the large tires as they are rubbing. They didn't rub when they were new but they do now. Haven't figured that one out. I am adding the air lift to counteract the lift under load. Any wisdom or opinions are much appreciated.

Thank you,

Joel

You said the difference in price between the coils and spacers is $250? I only paid $125-140 for my coils from summit racing. Somebody's puttin it to ya!:D I have the Skyjacker D25 coils and Bilstiens all around and love them. I have 255/85 Mud Terrains (33 inches) and carry around a 9 foot Fisher plow in the winter and never had a rubbing problem.

How can the springs be the same for the 1/2T, 3/4T, and Diesel?

Thanks,

Rich

I am going to guess that it's basically a miss print, maybe the skyjacker web site could answer that question but the JEG's site says 3/4 and 1 ton. I think the springs are the same it's just that you'd get more lift with a 360 V-8 in the front. I know some guys have used the D20 coil in their CTD so that they still maintain the nose down effect to some extent.

Thank you all for your responses and information. I called ORW early this morning and ordered their leveling kit. It will be here in time for the weekend. Oo. I asked them about shocks and they are the 8400lb capacity. He said you could put the springs on a gasser but it would be rough ride.

Keep in mind when you level the front end, if you want to run bigger tires and avoid clearance problems you will also need longer links. If your going to do it the correct way. I ordered everything at once and just to see I'd tried to put my 315/70/17 with my previous set up consisting of just level blocks, the tires would not fit, they hit the rear fender well. I then put on the DT 1/2"+ links and was able to fit my tires with no rubbing problems. I know some guys are running bigger tires but not sure how there clearance is. And each truck is a little different. I also suggest a adjustable trac bar to bring the axle back to center, which will also help clearance. Later. Good luck

Oh and one other thing the D25 are the springs meant for the CTD, gasser springs are a different part number so there not all the same. For instance you want D25 not D40or D45.
