So far I cant seem to find a 2wd low kit for my 2007 5. 9. Im sure this toppic has been covered but I cant seem to find it. I have a very steep driveway and its tough getting my camper up it high range.

There's no such thing for the 03+ trucks. The front axle is a solid shaft with no shift motor, so there is no vacuum to divert.

Some guys have done a freewheeling hub conversion, but that's a much bigger job. (and expense)

What ingages the front axle through the transfer case for the low range? Electronics? Vacuum? or gears? Is it possible to isolate what activates it? to get the two low?

Depending on which model transfer case you have it is either machanical linkage or electric motor. There is no way to shift the transfer case into low range without driving the front axle. Your only option is to go with a freewheel kit.

www.dynatrac.com This is a starting place, and look for other manufactures in a search here on TDR. Lots of discussions on this. The only option that I'm aware of, expensive but better than the crapy unihubs that the 3rd gen's and up have.

I have the Dynatrac on my 03 and love it. It replaces the sealed unit hub bearings that in my case needed to be replaced anyway, I don't have my frt axle turning all the time ( saves a little bit of fuel ) and of course I can do 2 wheel low for spotting my trailer. In the winter I just leave the hubs locked all the time so if I need 4WD I can get it any time. I live in a climate where there is lots of snow so you might want to do different. Yes it did cost a bit of money and I installed them myself, with help, so no labour costs. I have stock wheels and tires so I just cut a hole in the hub caps and they do sick out a bit since I don't have dual rear wheels. Would I recommend them to any one YES. Shad

My son and I have 2wd low on both our trucks (06 and 07) both havr had SpynTech kits installed. I tow a 27'RV and couldn't be happier with the 2wd low - - easy to use -- - - just shift the 4wd switch to 4 low - - - moat use is backing with an auto trans

Like Shadrach and C. D. Day, I have the free spin hubs and couldn't be happier with them for the 4 years I have had them. Just used 2wD low today backing my car trailer with my Kubota B3200 down a long dirt driveway. My '70,5. 9 being a stick shift really pays off having 2WD low for backing up. Pays off in other ways as Shad stated in a little better unloaded mileage and much less wear on the front end parts.
