I have been reading the threads about 2wd Low. I want this capability on my truck. I have several friends with Jeeps that have had problems with the vacuum disconnect. Some times it the lines and a few have had problems with the "motor" on the front axle. Has anyone tried the 4x4 posi-lock? This is a cable device that does away with the vacuum lines and motor. I saw this product on sale in an ad in the last issue of Four Wheeler for $145. Just looking to see if anyone has actually used it. Thanks, JC Corder

I installed one a couple of months ago after the lousy CAD didn't engage right away and blew up the TC. Easy install, the cable is a little long but I was able to route it out of the way of any moving (i. e. steering shaft) parts. Pull the cable and the axle is locked-right now...

I saw this advertised in FourWheeler a cpl months ago and thought that I just had to have one as I have wanted to have two low ever since I bought the truck. Jacking trailers around in lock sucks!

I'm now ready to get to it - but I had heard that there is an alternative to this setup - supposedly that folks like better?

The Posi - Lock outfit is somewhat close by - only an hr.

I have the vacuum solenoid/valve that switches the vac. lines around on the front axle with the flip of a switch to give you 2 low. It's very handy when backing up my boat, especially with the clutch I have. I'd rather have a more positive way to disconnect my front axle, this sounds like the ticket. I hate relying on vacuum lines dangling under the truck and have recently had some problems with the vacuum disconnect.
