Having run Biodiesel for well over 10 years here is what you can expect to happen.
1) Biodiesel is an awesome cleanser you will need to change your fuel filters for a few tanks.
2) Biodiesel does provide better lubricant than current ultra low sulphur diesel. Your single plunger rotary pump unless it’s on its last legs will thank you.
3) Biodiesel is very hard on rubber components, seals and hoses tend break down faster. Expect to replace them.
I found that a B50 (yes 50% Biodiesel mix) would give me the best fuel MPG . Not just in one truck all the trucks I’ve owned over the last 10 years band my boat as well. My current truck Ram on B20 until I moved to Jersey. Since I’ve been in Jersey and can not get Biodiesel I’ve had issues with my injectors sticking. Adding Stadyne injector cleaner and lube is the only thing that helps unless I can get a tank of Bio.
Personally if I had the choice I wouldn’t run anything but a Bio blend.
