I have mixed emotions about it. I really like biodiesel, but that doesn't mean I think it should be forced on anyone.

I think the 2% mandate is great, especially since it offsets the lubricity issues with ULSD. But a 20% blend is something people might not be willing to try (although I think every major engine maker now approves B20).

Generally, I prefer the government stay out of things. But I can't decide whether this particular initiative is good or bad.

What about those who have older diesels, or diesels that may not allow 20?

At what point is the goverment willing to ante up for the problems associated with this proposal? Not knowing the latest issues with biodiesel >5 (filter cleaning and fuel system cleaning after running the biodiesel through), but what does a user from out of state do when they hit MN. for brief trip there, like for a fishing trip/hunting trip/etc. and encounters problems?

Perhaps I need to get better educated about the potential for problems with biodiesel, make sure i have plenty of filters etc. ,but seems like grandstand play, which is not uncommon with election years.

I agree. I think B20 is great! Heck, I like B100, but I don't want to HAVE to use it because of LAW! Let the free market dictate. As bio refineries get more numerous and more efficient, the prices will come down and the supply will become more readily available. Keep the government OUT of it!
