200,000 Mile Extended Warranty From D/C ?????

Went to one of the local Denver Dodge dealer that sells lots of trucks in Brighton, CO yesterday. Was test driving chassis cabs w/ 6. 7. Then spoke to the sales manager who told me Chrysler is planning to launch a new line of "commercial grade" warranties within the next few months. Among these will be a 200,000 mile bumper to bumper extended warranty. He did not have anything I could take home to read but info will be coming out soon.



Anybody heard anything about this??

I assume it will be an optional warranty that can be purchased at the time of sale. One of the dealer guys might know more (Tomeygun?).

If the Aisan is any indication, maybe this will be the case. The Aisan has the 3yr/180K warranty. This is a great marketing promotion on Dodge's part. Only a small percentage will put over 60K on in 36 months. Those that do, will be doing a lot of highway miles which are much easier on the transmission and drive train. I have put 185K on my 2004 and 203K on my 2000 in the last 7 years. Only 5% of the users put over 40K miles per year. Dodge will get the headlines for the 200K and only have to offer it to a small percentage of the market. I'll bet a case of your choice that the warranty is ONLY power train.

Couldn't have said it any better myself... . will be putting over 7500 on mine in the next 2-3 weeks alone. Have 2 runs to make from here to Taos NM starting tomorrow evening. . 2 -20' containers each load. So if any of y'all see a big silver dually bearing down on you. . you know the drill..... lead, follow, or get the he!! outta my way, coming thru!!! :-laf

MMeier, Did you pull a 40' container through Baytown TX about 9-10 months ago? I was at the FlyingJ and saw one running down I 10 on a flat bed being pulled by a 03-05 silver Dually. Maybe it was 2x 20's ? Who or What ever it was I bow to your greatness

Nope, haven't been back that far, pull mine out of the L. A. , Long Beach ports. Friend of a neighbor nneds some in Taos, picking those up here from the guy I haul for and making 2 seperate trips "back to back", if you know what i mean...

I bought my CTD from my wifes uncle. He pulled a 40' box with it. As you can see from my sig. it is an '05 with 210,000 on it and still going strong. But he did do lots of up keep on it too. very religious about keeping the fluids and mechanical right.

Why not? It's tagged for 34,200#. Lots of 1 tons pulling out of the L. A. ports. Heck, the guy I pull up to Vegas for runs 3 single wheel short wheel base trucks back and forth all the time, pulled the boxes so he could hook up his lo pro trailers, don't think I 'd try that though, but his guys somehow make it, even with the wind they have in SoCal this time of year.

Went to my dealer here in Littleton, CO this weekend. spoke to the salesman who I bought my truck from who is the most knowledgeable guy there on trucks. He said he has heard nothing about a 200k warranty and couldn't find anything. I have heard that you can get an extended warranty up to 200k on F-450-550's. Any body else? All I know is if you are using your Dually for work 100k runs out pretty quick!!

Who did Ron Tonkin Dodge take over there in Happy Rock... Years ago I was a Sun rep before Scott Thomason took over that part of town... . Lets see, Kellum Datsun, and a few others were there... . One last question... do you know when we will be able to order the 4500 and 5500... .

Ron Tonkin dealerships took over Dodge here in 1987. Many people mixed us up with Thomason since he was ubiquitous on McLoughlin and because they both started with "T". I came on board in January 1996.



I get nothing definitive from Dodge on the 4500/5500, but we keep hearing it will be this fall when the 2008 product is out. It may be a slow launch like the Chassis-cab was this year. It will only be carried through BusinessLink Dealers so that is about 400 Dodge dealers nationwide. The 3500 C-C is available at all dealers since the BR chassis-cab was available to all.

I have seen some Dodges hauling containers on the 91 in OC,it's always a bit of a shock
