Archived 2000 Died P1693?

Friends 2000 died. Started then died. Wont start. Code p1693. what is it? He desribed it as if it was running rich just before it died. No mods on truck.

Code P1693 is a companion code, which means there are other codes set in your pcm/ecm. If you do a search under that code you will find about 13 pages of threads about that code. You will need a code reader to pull the other codes. Autozone does it for free or if you have a friend with an OBII code scanner that should work. Good Luck.

So doing the key trick 3 times wont tell you the other codes? He just called me and told me the code I never thought to ask him how he got the code. Truck has about 90k on it. bone stock.

IF thats the only code he seen then its a companion code need to have a scanner to see whats wrong .

Most likly LP possible VP dont matter if its stock or not this is one thing that is better off modified Baby or B. O. M. B. ed
