Just picked this one up...v10, clean with 148k on the clock. Doesn't consume or leak oil. It has fresh plugs, coils and injectors. Any mods that I should do?

I'll be installing a new set of shocks and a rear anti sway bar but other than changing out all the fluids I don't really know what else to change or look at.

Be prepared to hit every gas station you come across :-laf

What do you plan on using your new rig for?

They actually are quite a solid vehicle. The plugs are really the only pain on those engines. And since they are already done, you should be good to go for a while.

The only other things that I would do would possibly be hoses and a thermostat.

Plugs......yep, they are known for spitting plugs out!

Hoses and thermostat.......I'll probably hit that next.

This rig is strictly going to be for road trips for a three person family that seems to add a mother in law and two big black labs on every trip. We've been looking at excursions for years but up here they sell for well over high book and I wasn't going to pay that much. Finally found one for a good price and picked it up.

"Put a 12 valve in it". Funny you mention that. I picked up the donor 1995 regular cab Friday and got the excursion Saturday. It will happen as soon as this V10 vomits. From what I've been able to research it is on borrowed time after 150k anyway.

It may not vomit as fast as you think. My buddy had a 99 V10 F250 that went over 300k, he recently passed it down to his daughter who's using it as her daily driver. He never had any issues with it other than spitting spark plugs. Still on original transmission too.
