I found some cheap wheels off of a 2000 model truck and the guy says that they won't fit on an older truck, only 2000 or newer trucks. Is this true? If so, why? I have never heard of such a thing. Thanks for any help.

I don't know about a year 2000 revision, but when they changed the Ram in '94 they went to larger (gulp) GM style studs and large taper lugs, I think they are metric too. These wheels will not fit properly on our trucks just by the stud size difference alone. Think about it, why would Rickson take so long to come out with 19. 5" wheels for us if they were the same?

I tried to put a set of '97 wheels on my truck ( a '92). Weld racing, the mfg of the wheel said I would have to put a new set of studs all around. The studs on mine were about 1/2 to short. Nice wheels but not worth the trouble.

I just put new wheels on my '97 last week. The studs are not metric, they are 9/16-18. I'm not sure about the first gens, but this is the same studs as my Blazer. The factory lugs take a 15/16 socket, but the new aftermarket ones are 7/8. BTW, if anyone is interesed in my old ones (factory chrome), send me an email, I'm in the Denver area.
