I lost one of those cheezy plastic 1 ton Rear hubcaps on a rough Nevada road. The local dodge dealer wants $ 63. 50 for a replacement!! Maybe I am a bit out of touch, but $63. 50 for a bit of chrome plastic?? I can buy a 8x16 alloy rim for between $150. 00 and $190. 00. If I can find a used cap I will buy it in a heartbeat. Alloys are not in the finnances at the moment, maybe in the near future. Anyone else out there had the same problem?

Hub caps

I bought one for my 1998 off the internet for $36 plus $3 shipping. Brand new Mopar cap. The site has since stopped doing that but there may be another doing it now. Do a search on "Google" search engine.

I have been through your town many times going back & forth from Alaska.

Gonzo,

Try this guy, he's fixed me up a couple of times, and reasonably priced as well. He really knows his stuff. Just tell him what you're looking for, and I think he'll even ship it to you.

Good luck, let us know how it works out. -Ken

Try a search under dualie wheels or dualie wheel covers. I found complete sets or stainless covers for around $140. I'm sure I'll be buying a new set long before this truck is worn out. :D :D :D

Here is a heads-up about loosing wheel covers on the ¾ ton Rams. I found that the metal ring on the inside of the cover becomes dimpled where it grips the lug nuts. I used to point the ram's chin at the valve stem when I rotated my tires (one of my obsessions :)) but found that the cover would not stay on tightly unless it was reinstalled in a different rotation each time.

I don't know if the 1 tons use the same mounting techniques for the covers but they might.

'98 Dually hub caps

If the ones from a '98 dually will fit on the 2001s, I've got 2 of 'em just sitting in the shed. Send me an E-mail and maybe we can work out a deal!

P. S. , I've got the trim rings too if anybody needs them.

Yep, we lost the one on the right rear the first week we had the truck. Guess someone's dog needed a bowl. I just drove in to the dealer and said, "It fell off! Give me another one. " Replaced under warranty. ;)

thanks

Thank you for the information. I will give that a try. I may have located some used ones from a member. When you go through stop by. We could talk diesel.

Cheez

Yea I guess in 1998 they discontinued the cheap stainless steel:rolleyes: and started with the high quality plastic:( liners and caps?? Sometimes progress mistifies me.

JMO but I really like the 2000+ Simulators. Sadly enough I bet those plastic ones look better in a few years than the stainless ones do. A buddy of mine had a 96 and I am pretty sure his were plastic?? I guess not. The new style dually rim is killer looking. And at least you can't see the real wheel through the holes like you could with the older ones.
