Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fass Filter Question

Desperate to figure this out and avoid the mechanic

Today I was driving my 2001 2500 24v 5 speed and my truck just shut off. When it did the odometer just read (no bus). I found fuse 9 in the dash fuse box blown for the pcm. I replaced it and the no bus message went away for a second then came back and the fuse blew again when I tried to start the truck. I looked at a wiring diagram and it says that circuit runs to the pcm and the engine ecm. I disconnected the wiring plugs at the pcm and checked for a short to ground did not find one so i put everything back together and replaced the fuse again. Now it works fine and I drove it 40 miles to verify. Any ideas why the fuse would blow twice and then be fine ?

@blanco lobo, Look for corrosion in the connectors. It could be green color on the pins to a whitish color that is tracking. Pull them apart and clean with a plastic safe contact cleaner then reassemble with dielectric grease to help prevent the same issue. If it keeps up, check more connectors in the circuit for the same thing. Good luck.
