I have a 2001 ram 3500 2 wheel drive in need of new front coil springs and lower ball joints on both sides. Only problem is that the stealer is the only place i have been able to locate replacement parts. don't want to lift the truck just want good replacement springs, Moog only sells ball joints for 98 below and springs for 96 and below, i am assuming that these will not work on a 2001. plus DC only sells the complete lower control arm to repair lower ball joints! My question is does anyone know if by chance the older model parts will work or if there are any after market parts out that will work without paying the stealers steep price. :{

I undestand "Ingle", sure hope I spelled that right, makes adjustable and greasable ball joints for both top and bottom. Cannot offer any help on springs.

Bob thanks for the info, that helps the springs are not to pricey but the control arms are and i sure hate to trash a good arm just to replace a ball-joint. I checked out there website but it appeared that they only sold the replacement ball-joints for 4x4's i have a 4x2. but i will call in the am tomorrow and see what i can find out. Oo.

jrollins~ I spelled their name wrong but here is a link.

http://www.ingallseng.com/trucks/dodge4x2.html

One problem for our 3500's it only lists through 1999 and 2500 through 2001.

Might not hurt to call and ask if there is any updates. I sure hope there is!!!:(

OOPs I see you already checked and have the link. Sorry. :eek:

P. S. i just looked at the site again. If you click on the series 432 and 532 it lists they are good for our trucks through 2001. Hope that is true. Oo.

Thanks again Bob, i am going to call tomorrow and will post my findings for availability of 4x2 ball joints as soon as i find out from them:cool:

This is the reply from Ingle for availability of 4x2 ball joints:

"We only have them for the 4x4. Ingalls designed this ball joint to adjust camber and caster. The 4x2 use a bushing in the axle around the upper ball joint. So an adjustable ball joint is not needed. "

Guess us 4x2 drivers are out of luck for now:{

I don't know the parts #'s off the top of my head, i will have to post the exact part #'s tomorrow morning when i can get to them again.

jrollins ~ Sorry to hear them say that as I thought the adjustable ball joint was a great idea and from a well known company:{

There home page is very miss leading though as if you go through the paces for a 4X2 Dodge 3500 it shows series 432 and 532 is good for up to year 2001!! :confused:

Oh well the search goes on I am sure somebody will come up with an alternative. They most always do here. :D
