Todd,

got it set on level 5 95% of the time,,the shuddering is at all levels,,even 0 (stock setting) it's not a violent shudder but it is noticable

I'm thinking along the same lines with Todd.
Doesn't matter how low you have the PM3 set, the stock converter is simply a weak component.

Well... looks like it may be time to call Bill Kondolay and get that transmission fixed...

Actually, you may want to call Bill anyway and get his advice. He really knows his stuff.

I tell folks they can't go above level 4 on the PowerMax3 without frying the stock automatic transmission but most don't pay attention. We make the same statment for level 6 and the manual clutch, still few pay heed.

Take the box off and see if the shudder is still there. Process of elimination. if it is gone, ask for another box. This has been posted before, and it was the box.

Ice... . My rig did the same at 7,000 and there was a tsb that they found on the good ol' 47 re. Bands from the factory have been known to stretch a bit on the early side (15,000 is first recomended adjustment) they droped the pan and bingo gone in 60 secconds! N/C of course

mark , you know that if there is more than one level there the buyer will use them no matter what you tell them .

shudder is actually caused by the lockup wanting to slip and it's not able to . what fluid do you have in the trans ?

First trans service at 15k? Thought the owners manual said 30k for normal service. Please let me know if I missed something. I was going to do it at 20k, but I just turned 18K, so I'll jump right on it if this is the case. TIA

wasn't able to do any testing the last couple of days because the wife was driving it and i had to drive to old one,,anyway, drove it today ,, with the pmx off i couldn't get it to do the shuddering,,turn it back on and its there,,,,does ok if i ease the throttle down but if i go down faster than normal driving it's back. there is no slipping going on. i noticed two different type shudders,,one is when i push down hard it is almost like a miss(gas engine with a fouled plug) right when o. d. kicks in,,,,,the other is crusing 65mph and trompin it feels like when you take off quick from a light on wet roads and the rear wheels hop and give a vibration through the drive train. im gonna do more testing before i call tst with a pmx3 problem(just wanna be sure). definatly will be doing trans upgrade as soon as funds become avail. because after turning the pmx off and driving it is depressing,,gotta have my box on!!! sorry for the long post,,just trying to get to the bottom of this,,,,,any help is appreciated
