Bigger turbo - create problems??

I see on the 2001. 5's there is no longer a vacuum operated cruise. I assume Dodge is now tied into the engine computer directly for the cruise control. Does anyone know what it would take to update my 2001 ETH to the new stuff. My cruise does some lurching when going downhill or slower on the level - seems that it is too sensitive for the turbo lag when there is no load (applies too much power then makes a sudden drop once the boost comes up). I rode in a 2001. 5 and dead smooth. The ECM shows a different part number on the 2001. 5 so I think I am looking at a spendy change. Any help on this one?

Still can't figure out why Dodge runs a cable out to run a rheostat on the engine. Any modern big rig (and Ford, and GM pickups) have electronic pedals. Guess it must be a cost thing allowing the same pedal as the gassers. Makes even less sense to use a second electronic over vacuum controled cable for the cruise.

I had the same thing on mine. Took it in and they replaced the servo for the cruise control. Works a lot better now but it is still a little more sensitive than I would like. There were TSB's out on the earlier trucks for the symptoms that you describe and I suspect you have the same problem. Yours may be a little too new to have a TSB on it yet.
