With some sadness, it is time to part with my 2001. 5 2500 Cummins 4x4. It is my first Cummins Dodge, and certainly not my last, but will be between diesels for a while. Growing family, paying off a bill, and need for a different vehicle is causing me to sell.
Anyway, here are the basics:
I am the second owner since Jan 2005 and 88K miles. Now has 163K. Never had a gooseneck or 5th wheel hitch. Heaviest I have towed with it is about 8000lbs with the hitch moving in the Army. I purchased the truck in TX and most of its life has been spent there. It is now at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.
White with leather (power driver's seat) interior in great shape
Cold AC
Power heated mirrors
Fully operational overhead console with digital compass, outside temp, economy, range, and a few other readouts
2001. 5 means 4 wheel disc brakes. Not a 53 block engine either. I confirmed this before I bought it!
In the last 30K - 40K miles, I have done a bunch of work to the truck. I have records of all of this including oil changes every 5K miles and fuel filter change every 10K. Always with Fleetguard when possible, otherwise Wix from NAPA. Was dealer serviced by its first owner and has never had a FRAM on it from what I can tell!
Work Done in this period:
Full transmmission rebuild with Dunrtie HD billet torque and upgraded valve body. Shifts nice and firm now.
Installed new upgraded VP44 (no internal brass parts)--factory lift pump failed and killed injector pump.
Bosch RV injectors(slight power upgrade)
Edge Juice with Attitude monitor installed, pump tapped with BD Stealth Cover.
FASS DDRP now mounted on frame rail. Just finished this mod recently when I installed a Draw Straw from Genos to replace the factory fuel pickup. DDRP went on when I did injector pump, but I purchased one of the first ones and it started giving low pressure a month or so ago and FASS sent me a brand new that I moded to the frame rail when I replaced using the Geno's kit.
Truck has largest available Weatherguard truck box on it. Was more than $800 from Tractor Supply when I bought it. I also custom modified an ARE fiberglass hard tonneau cover to cover the remainder of the bed and make it lockable.
Installed 17" wheels from a 2006 2500 in place of the factory 16" wheels
Installed Genos cupholder upgrade in factory center middle seat folding top
Full Husky Liners in front(including hump)
Rear has a Cabelas liner similar to husky
Rear under seat storage tray
Replaced the dash top with the Genos molded cover as it was starting to crack, and then have had that covered with a carpet molded dashmat since I put it on a couple years ago
Frontier Gear front end replacement bumper/brush guard combo that was sprayed with Linex this past June. Looks great. Replaced the factory sport headlights with a new set from Geno's at the same time. Nice and bright now like new, and it also has fog lamps.
Full 4" turbo back Sliverline Stainless exhaust installed from Geno's
Custom(I welded them up myself) full length steel step bars--allows easy access to toolbox--that are rhino lined installed last December
Has a roll in bedliner with a Tractor Supply heavy bed mat in bed
Locking rear tailgate latch
WestTach fuel pressure gauge installed at VP44 input via the Genos hose to the test port
K&N intake replacement with conical filter and tube
Other assorted fixes and what not. I like everything to work on my vehicles so I fixed any problems as they arose
The truck has only gotten about 75K miles on it nearly 8 years because I am in the Army. In the time I have owned it I have been deployed and gone several other times so averaged under 10K miles a year.
Truck is located in Huntsville Alabama now at Redstone Arsenal where I am presently stationed. I will be here until 14 December when I move again. I have clear Texas title in hand as that is where I am from and where I register it annually.
I am negotiable on the price. Straight person to person KBB value for it in stock form and current condition is right at $11. 5K so I am asking a little for all the extra mods and work but I am also reasonable and want to sell it. Would love to see it go to the right person who knows about these great trucks and wants do drive her for many more great miles.

Jon
