What is a LF3959? LF3894 is the Stratapore oil filter that I've been using. Does LF3959 supersede LF3894?

LF3959 is the standard oil filter for 24-v
LF3894 is the Stratapore oil filter 24-v
second filter is better. (cost more too)

I have done quite a bit of research and the LF3894 stratapore filter seems to be the one of choice. I am a diesel mechanic by trade for a local wood products trucking company and we use Baldwin filter on all our Cat powered equipment but I still think Fleetguard builds a superior product.

I am more confused all the time on these filter numbers for the 2001. I have seen LF3894 and LF3935 for oil, FS1268, FS19579 and FS19528 for fuel, and AF25541 for air. An e-mail reply to my question from cummins listed LF3935 for oil, FS1268 for fuel, and AF25541 or AF25090 for air.

In this thread, I am seeing LF3959 for oil and FS19579 for fuel. Are these all interchangable or is there a difference between the ETC and ETH engines?

Here is some more details:
Fleetguard #
LF3935 is the standard oil filter (old # for 24-v)

LF3959 is the standard oil filter (current # for 24-v)

***LF3894 is the Stratapore oil filter*** ****( better grade filter for 24-v )***

I just looked at the the box on my 19579 fuel filter. It too is a StrataPore.

I have a 98 12 valve and a 2001 24 valve. I use the same filter for both trucks I use the Baldwin BT 339. Works great for both.

Just to add some more info here, I just called Cummins SW here in Tucson. Ed there
did not understand the H. O. 24 Valve designation. I gave him the engine # and the Cummins genuine oil filter Part #3937695.
He crossed that to an LF3959 but he doesn't stock it in any of his stores.
If you check the Cummins site, there is only ONE filter specified for our 2000-2001 engines, that is the LF3959. No Microglass or Stratopore filter is listed for the 2000 and 2001 engines.
I let you guys know if I ever get my hands on the LF3959.
