I have the aluminum wheels on my 2001, 2500 4X4.

Is there anything useful or important to do to the wheels to protect the finish from road salt or other evils?

Be carefull on what polish you use on those. Remember they are clear coated and when you use a aftermarket polish it will wear the clear coat thin and make you polish all the time then. Use a good clear coat wheel cleaner and wipe them down is all you should need to do... ... ..... Andy

On one wheel there is a place around the center cap that I think the tire place may have scratched. It looks corroded, or at least dull and different than the rest of it.

Is there anything to be done with that, without damaging more finish?
