2001 Arrival Time

Hey, I'm new to the TDR and gettin' to be new to Mopar! After a lengthy (and expensive) Bowtie phase, I'm ready to move on. Got a couple of questions for the experienced though.
(1) How long should I expect to wait for an ordered 2001(. 5?) if I order about the 8th of Jan. ? I'm reduced to toolin' around in a '91 Bonnieville sedan in the meantime. (ouch baby)
I've heard 4-6 weeks all the way to 4-6 months.
(2) Does anyone know what the proper option is for those black towing mirrors (not the steel ones)? I've seen two options on the actual factory sheet, but then a 200-some-dollar mopar option, didn't know what was right. I looking for the ones that flip longways, or straight up.

I can't tell you for sure how long it'll take to build your truck, mine took 45 days. On the mirrors the option code is GPD, and they are a No-Cost option, you must specify them though.

Picked mine up from the dealer 41 days after the order was placed. Only have 3,500 miles on it so far. Owned 5 trucks in the past, 3 Fords and 2 Chevys (all gas). None of them ever let me down, but it looks like this Dodge could be the best of all.

I ordered Oct 4 and picked up Dec 1. The truck shipper caused a week delay and I had the dealer keep it for 3 days for extra installs.

The mirrors you will have to ask for and they are a no cost Item. I like the mirrors very much.

I ordered my truck on November 15, and picked it up on December 22. I specified that it be built in St. Louis instead of Mexico when I ordered it. It would have been here a week sooner, but the plant was down for one week.

I ordered mine on Feb. 17th, and I got it on April 17th. It was built in St. Louis, and it didn't need to travel by rail. A Mexico truck would take longer to transport - sometimes they sit for quite a while waiting for a train ride. Availability of parts has a big affect on the speed it will be built.

Walked right into local dealer and got exactly what I wanted. First one to test drive it. This was in middle of November. At least one of 4 local dealers had exactly what I wanted.

I waited about 8 weeks and can tell you, it's worth the wait !!!
