Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 2001 Auto transmission Question

Does anyone recall what Dodge did to "beef-up" the 47re in 2001 when they increased the power to 235/460? I road in a buddy's truck the other day and his 2001 really seemed to shift much firmer than my '99. The torque converter really seemed to lock much firmer.

nothing. They did change the governor pressure algorithim from the early RE's That may be why you think it shifts firmer. You could tweak your throttle valve cable a little to get a little firmer shift. It might even be out of adjustment. Just don't get it to tight or it can break.
