2001 CTD Poor Mileage And Performance

This is one of those I have a frend questions. The vehicle in question is a 2001, 2500 QC, SB, 4x2 auto, 3. 54 gears. The truck has very low power and is only getting about 12 mpg. It has been to DC on three separate occasions and no codes are set in the computer. They have aparenly reflashed the computer each time with only temporary results. After a reflash the truck runs really well for about two days then goes back to low power and 12 mpg.



The dealership says with no codes set in the computer that they cannot make any repairs. Does anybody have any ideas or sugestions, or has anyone run into this before? Any help or ideas will be greatly appreaciated. Thanks Roy

How new is it???

Mine was a pig out of the factory. 3 trips to different dealers and finally one to Cummins. All said it was within specs. Most told me to wait for it to break in. Seeing I have no patience I just went ahead and got the EZ. Plenty of power (for a while) and a jump in MPG's.



Other things to check are the IAT sensor. MAP sensor. All the clamps, turbo to intercooler, intercooler to intake horn. Better air filter. Right foot!



The auto with 3:54's doesn't help. Keep the OD off till on the freeway at speed.
