My 2001 heater sucks i live in manitoba canada and it gets cold here and my heater does not work very well if it warm out like 32o its not bad but any colder and it wont keep me any kind of warm my heater door does not move unless its in off or max a/c is this right or should it blend the air between out side and the air from the passenger floor and my fan does not blow very much im thinkin my a/c and heater cores are pluged with dirt

I believe the blend door only is controlled by the heat or cold knob the one direction is heat the other is toward hot and infinite sittings in between. To fix this I understand you have to remove the dash and replace. There is a device sold on eBay that supposed to be able to fix this without removing the dash. I have not heard of anyone using it and it working and I have asked. As you can guess iu have nto fixed this in mine yet.

I am thinking your problem maybe plugged cores, blower motor or both.

I am sure these threads will give you more info than you need. .

The other one is here.

If you have a good place to work inside and take your time it will be about 6-7 hours. Mine took a couple days, but i rebuilt the doors and new heater core and ac evaporator .
It is not that bad if you follow the threads and take your time.

DPethick, I am from Manitoba too and I feel your pain, or COLD. My 95 is a cold ride. It needs some fixing to the heater box. The air flow is weak too even though the fan motor is new. I've wondered about the blend door fix that is on Ebay. I was hoping that someone had BTDT.

My heater door is messed up now also. But I have a Honda 2000i I carry with me for work... so I just went and bought an extension cord and an electric space heater. The truck is very nice inside and the windows thaw quicker than every.

If the blender door is messed uphttp://www.heatertreater.net/ most likely start with the easy fix. I did and it fixed it.

Awesome you are the first I heard had tried this fix and said it works. Was it as easy as they say? Sure would beat 6 to 7 hours to replace unless you already have a core leaking.

There has been other threads on this. On the passenger side left three screws take them out that little piece will come out (plastic) and it will be broken. He mentions some kind of calibration, I did not do it. (more crap to take apart) My blender door works great.

I must have missed the other threads here on this as I have been watching and hoping someone and successfully used this fix. Much easier than removing the dash!!!:-laf
