I just bought a 2001 dodge manual and am kind of low on cash. I was wondering what are some cheap yet noticeable ways to improve power? Air Filter? Exhuast? Has anyone simply pulled their stock muffler out and put a piece of pipe in their with leaving the catalytic converter? If so, how does it sound? Could i just go to the muffler shop and tell them I want them to straight pipe it from the turbo back or is it better to buy a kit? Thanks

You will find with these engines... they aren't like gas engines... . they don't really benifit from Exhaust and Intake mods till a bit later. Cheep stuff..... Edge EZ... it's a plug and play module, that is pretty safe, but gives you a nice seat of the pants kick! I'd recommend before you do anything... get guages. You NEED to know what that engine is doing.

It depends on where your at when it comes to straight piping the exhaust. Pa requires you to have a muffler and resonator on there. (unless you know somebody;))

Gauges first, EZ, exhaust, get more money, injectors/turbo, get more money, clutch, sell EZ get Comp, get more money... . etc etc...

EDGE EZ

The Edge EZ was the single best "seat of the pants power improvement" modification I did. From just off idle to half throttle, it made my truck pull like a freight train. Like night and day from stock. 4" exhaust was a "no difference" modification. I just did it to lower my EGT. My 47RE is stock. After it goes I will make the needed modifications and then I will "kick it up a notch. " ;)
