My driver's side power window broke in the 3/4 up position. I can't move it by trying to force it down or up. The switch works to power the passenger window and the power door locks still work so I'm thinking it's the power window motor. If this thing is stuck in the 3/4 up position, how will I be able to get that motor and arm assembly out of there?

Try smacking the door panel with your hand right about where the motor is. Mine has hung up a couple of times and that has got it going again.

Love it! Give it a whack. Like the old TV sets when they’d get staticky “Hey Jimmie, whack the side of the TV will ya”

Friggin Awesome - thanks for the laugh.

Okay, I took the door panel off and confirmed power at the switch. Then I disconnected the plug near the motor and confirmed power there. I plugged it back in and decided to test the power window again and it worked! I believe the plug near the motor had disconnected from vibration. It appeared to be connected but it wasn't fully seated. Now I can close the window and drive the old truck again. Thanks Bob!

I have found more than one electrical Quonlon that I could cure by tightening connections on my 1996 Dodge. And my wife's 07 minivan. And my former 1976 Cherokee. And my late mother's 1974 Hornet. And my former 1961 Rambler.

The first time I had the window problem, I took everything apart including the switches. Cleaned the switches, put everything back together and it worked. A few months later the passenger side window hung up again. I believe I read on this forum where someone smacked the motor area with a rubber mallet and it worked. The next time it hung up I tried that and got it going. Now, if it hangs up, I just smack it with my fist. You might keep that trick in mind if the glitch shows up again. It also helps to vent some frustration.
