I pulled a good load of wood up north. The next morning I could see that some oil had come out of the seel where the drive shaft comes into the pumpkin. It had sprayed off the spinning drive shaft and went all over. How hard is it to replace this seel? the oil level was still ok. Thanks

I have the same exact problem. Mine overheated and broke while I was mudding most likely. Oil all over my fuel tank and drippin off my rear end, it even splatters all over the tail gate and bumper and anyone closely following me! It's been like this for a while, and the oil level never seems to go down drastically. I just top it off every now and then. Any off road 4X4 shop can fix the seal, just isn't on the top of my to do list. Gotta figure out this dang Fass pump!#@$%!

Check Vent

I had that problem not too long ago. Took it to the transmission shop and had it checked out. I just knew one or more seals were gone. He finally traced it to the vent. Was completely stopped up, don't know how, but it was. Now no problems. Check the simple stuff first.

i looked for the vent on my 01. It looks like it is on the drivers side of the rear end. But it looks like a block with a rubber hose comming out the top and the brake lines look to go thru this also. Is this the vent for the rear end?
