RHARVEY,
I have 2001 alloys on my 1997. I had to remove some material from the rear drums. Took the drums and a wheel to a machine shop and they removed a couple tenths (using a brake lathe) from the outside of the drums. Cost was one hour labor. Some folks have mentioned clearance problems with the front suspension. I had no problems on the front.
I went with the oem alloys because of their backspacing. I did not want the wheels and tires to hang out past the fenders. I would do it again.
pm me if you would like some more details.
