2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 2002 3500 Disc Brake wear ?

Had a squeak in the front brakes and pulled the pads out for a look. To my surprise on the left front the outer pad was good but the inner pad was all the way down to the backing!!Mind you this truck only has 18000 miles on it with no hard braking. checked out the other three brakes and the right rear was the same way!

the others were OK. There was no sign of the caliper sliding on the mount on those two brakes. Do you guys think that will be covered under warranty?Not sure if i want them to fix it if it's covered. Seams they always mess something up. After they fixed the trans the reverse lights didn't work,had to get another switch.

You think they would check their work before it leaves!

Any chance the pad was hangin up and not sliding? Old ford PSD I had was famous for doing this. If the slides aren't lubricated the backing plate doesn't return and the pad wears down real fast. I ain't had my Ram long enough to even heat up the brakes, so don't know nuttin really. But it sounds like what was a known problem with PSD's on the old Ford-Diesel.com boards.
