2002.5, 2003.5? I don't get it?

This may be a dumb question but I have been seeing it in people's sigs... Where they list that they have a "2003. 5 2500 HO"... What's w/the ". 5"?



The only ". 5" that I know of (or @ least I think I know of) was when they switched from the 12v to the 24v in, what, 1994?

The switch from 12V to 24V was in mid-1998; thus, the 1998. 5 designation for the first 24V trucks. The other "biggie" was when they made a mid-year switch from drum to disc rear brakes in the middle of the 2001 model year. The 2001. 5 and later trucks have the disc rear brakes.

I refer to mine as a 2001. 9 because it's a year end 2001. 5 with a 2002 paint color.
