Hey all, I was told by a Pacbrake dealer that the newer trucks(2002) have cruise control which is electronically operated via the ECM sending a signal to the fuel injection pump. No longer do they have the old diaphragm type servo that has a cable going to the fuel pump. This changes things for those of us wanting to activate our brakes immediately thru a shifter switch wired in series with the throttle microswitch. . Any input folks?

He's a bit behind....

Phil, my 01. 5(built Aug 2000) is servoless, I think it is actually that way on trucks older than mine also.

Exhaust brake

Hey guys, If I'm not mistaken I believe the 2001 I had before was the servo/vacuum operated type. I could see the diaphragm assembly down under the drivers side battery tray and the cable led up to the VP44. I did not know about the 2002's until I ordered the Pacbrake and the salesman told me about it. He said there is a way to go the old route with the microswitch and shifter switch. He contacted Pacbrake with this info. and called me back at work:), said I can have it operate like the old one just no relay that goes on the electronic version. I prefer it this way. I want to activate it anytime I want to with the flip of the shifter sw.

Just wanted to tell y'all.
