Need a new Ferd Bronco Engine

My wife got a new car and I'm now driving her 2002 Durango as a daily driver. I noticed the brake pedal felt very spongy and went almost to the floor before any actuation of the brakes. She never complained about it.

I bled the brakes; she pumped the pedal 3x then held, I bled RR, LR, RF, LF. Lots of air bubbles. Pedal felt fine with engine off, then engine on and seems like nothing improved.

Waited one week, bled brakes again, lots of bubbles but not as many as before. Brake pedal felt awesome with engine off. Started engine and it went to the floor again...

Anyone have any ideas on what to check next?

Thanks,

Louis

If it has drum brakes on the rear they need to be adjusted. If it's disc all the way around I would guess the problem is the master cylinder. bg
