I want to know if it has been done. I have the front axle out of a 2002 dodge 2500. I would like to have the better braking power of the 2002 will the back plate and calipers fit my 1997 dodge 3500.

Swineheart, It's possible I should have posted on your thread. I just started one on my 95 concerning using 03 axles. I remember reading somewhere that 03 was the year to use when swapping to upgrade second gen front brakes. Can't speak as to exactly why, hopefully someone will chime in and add to our knowledge base.

Well I have 3rd gen caliper brackets on my 02 with 05 pads and rotors if that helps. Stops as good as you would ever want even with 37s.
