I was wanting to do a sport light conversion. I have read that the 02''s head lights are computer controled and have a constant 12v sorce and the ground is switched not the power. I just wanted to get that all cleared up before I dropped 300 bones on lights and a kit.

As for the pwr mirror question. If I have power mirrors now on the truck and I do the 3rd gen power mirror conversion, Do I have to get a 3gen switch or will it work with the 2nd gen switch?

Thanx for the help I have searched on these questions and get mixed answers.

The "computer controlled " came up before in this thread: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137015&highlight=sport+computer. It was wrong then and still is if you're talking about model year 2002 2500's & 3500's - the second generation sheet metal. There is no computer involved!

Here is the basic switched ground headlamp circuit in model year 2002 second-generation Rams: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/user_gallery/displayimage.php?&photoid=15712&width=4. Twelve volts is always present at the common terminal of the 9004 bulb.

does this conversion help with the low light from the low beams?

and do you have a link to the site where one could read more about this and get prices

Put +sport +light +conversion into the Key Word(s) box of the Search Forums feature of this website and you'll find lots of reading.

No - your original switch will work just fine. The wiring connectors are different, so you'll have to do some splicing, but no biggie.

Thanx Thomas and Firemandave I was pretty sure that the mirror swithc would work but wanted to double check. I was pretty sure the lights were not computer controled at all unless you had DTRL's I have the FSM but didnt know if I could trust it since when I replaced my VP44 it had conflicting info on bleeding procedures.
