My '02 had the same dead pedal problem and it ended up being the vp44. I would say take it in and have them check for codes and have it replaced under warranty. Thas what I did a few days ago and it all went away. BTW the apps re-set did nothing to help the problem,but that was on my truck. Might as well give it a try.
