2002 SLT with A/C no shaded windshield

`Just took deliver of new 2002 2500 Ram with A/C only to discover it doesn't have a shaded windshield. A call to the selling dealer got me this answer, "none of the 2002 models on our lot has the shaded glass, the 2001 models do though". Anyone out there experienced this shorting the consumer? Or, is it not available in the SLT with a/c?

Bob, it has tinted glass, just doesn't have shaded windshield (dark green across the top). Couple of friends stopped by to look at the truck, none of them had heard of an air conditioned vehicle without shaded glass. If this isn't a mistake, alot of people who live in the southern part of this country are going to be hollaring about no shaded windshield.

I ordered the hood insulation, ($29. 54 plus $18. 15 for retainers) before I left the dealership. Dealer is offering cost plus 10% on parts and accessories to new truck buyers.

Going to call Dodge tomorrow and get their reason for deleting the shaded glass.

Found out that the shaded glass is now ONLY available with power rear window. Kinda sounds like inventory adjustment at buyers expense.

Been working on the truck putting in a 5th wheel hitch and brake controller. Been noticing a few things that were not readily apparent till I crawled around the truck for a while. Kind of wish they would have deleted the lightweight trailer hitch receiver. Got to like the size of the differential and the big rear brake rotors.

Just noticed that MPagnucco has rear slider but no shaded glass. Shots the hell out of report on slider/shaded option.
