2003 ,2500 hitch capacity

Does someone know the capacity of the factory hitch? Dodge literature says 10,000 lbs with 15% on the hitch. Does it have to be the weight distribution bars to get that capacity?

It's probably junk. Can't see why DC would change to quality now. One of the first things I did with my 96' was to swap it out for a Torklift Superhitch.

According to the literature, yes, you'd be needing a WD setup.



As near as I coud tell, it's the same hitch that used to be offered as an option for the 2002 and earlier models.

The hitch is new for 03 and it's an integral member of the frame (ie; cross member). Also, revised literature states that it's rated for 12,000 lbs.
