Archived 2003 3500 w/ auto, is stuck in park?

I have a 2003 3500 with an auto trans that is stuck in park! It was doing it some when the truck was cold, but I could step on the brake and pull the tilt wheel down and it would release, but now it is stuck!#@$%!

I know you probably don't want to hear this but have you tried to YANK it out of park? I had a similiar problem and had to yank on the gear lever to get it to move. If you are still under 100,000 Dodge will replace the valve body for $100.

The brake light switch failed on my Chevy and I had the same problem. My 01 doesn't have the child safety switches. Does the brake have to be applied to shift out of park?

If you loose the stop light fuse that can happen... ... ... ...

If not any of the above, bad valve body. Had problems getting mine out of park, that is how they fixed mine.

Guys there is and inline switch that is not clicking into the contact all the time! I tap it and it works for a little bit! Dose anyone know where I can get a good manual that has the 2003 Dodge exploded veiws and The Cummins?

I am having the same problem shifting out of park now and was wondering if replacing the valve body is covered under the 100k mile Cummins warranty or if you had a 100k mile warranty on your whole truck? I had 7yr 70k on mine and am just over 80k now, just wondering if I take it to the dealer if I will be paying for the whole thing or not. Thanks in advance for any help.
