03 Idle Problem, & 03 fueling problem

Pulled the trigger today. Bought an 07 6. 7 with 107,000 on it today. Should be here Monday/Tuesday I hope. Also got Flo-Pro 5" exhaust, S&B intake, Edge Insite CTS, and the Fleece VNT controller today.

Still to get are an intake horn, EGR cooler plates, cooler tube, and CCV vent and possible filter delete.

Hope to clear up the mis-information and mystery that seems to be out there, even though the swap has been done a fair bit I'd guess. Pics and info to come

I thought the 03's injectors were very different from the 6. 7 in regards to spray pattern?

I think the correct comparison is slightly different spray pattern, not totally different. The 6. 7s went back to the re-entract piston bowl design so the spray angles are closer the non re-enttrant bowls.

No they will work in 03/04 the 6. 7 has same holes and similar Piston top, you will have to change the rocker to the 3 Bank 03/05, keep the 6. 7 rail and Mod it to the 5. 9 Relief with APT.

I think th OS will operate the 6. 7?

The OS doesn't really know or care what configuration is there. Any ECU will run any configuration, just not exactly the same as designed.

The spray angle difference of 3 degrees should be compatible enough to keep the fuel in the bowl.

I agree, I would swap the rocker and run it.

Keep the 6. 7 injectors in it, just run the 03 harness.

I have seen one of these, they are turbo spooling SOB's!

That's the first I have heard of that. I am 99% sure the truck I was looking at had the 6. 7 injectors in it. I also thought that only 1 injector body was offered anymore, and just the nozzles were different??

6. 7 body is different then 5. 9, You don't have that problem , I am sure the OS 03/04 will Run 6. 7 Injectors in 6. 7 head.

Those 5. 9 injectors won't fit in that 6. 7 Head, at least not for long.

Why's that Todd?

In a thread on CompD, Zach Hamilton says the 5. 9 ECM runs 6. 7 injectors fine. Ryan Bean said they run, but run like crap. Joe tried his stock ECM and no dice; hooked his standalone up and rescaled or changed something and they run fine. And another guy runs 5. 9 injectors in his 03 6. 7 with no issues.

There seems to be few guys that have done it that I can get info from, so I'm stuck with forums.

To many difference fitments. its just to risky, the spray pattern, the Piston bowl, the Tolerances in CR is just to tight, eventually some problem will develop $$$$.
