I have a 2003 HO,3500,6 spd. I'm have an A/C problem. During a trip thru the SE(Ark,TN,GA, FL, Maryland and back to AZ) last year my A/C would freeze up, fan slow down and very little air out the vents. I could turn the air off for a while then restart but leave on max A/C and the problem would not happen. Took it to a D/C dealer in TN but they couldn't find a problem. Has anybody else had this problem, if so how did you fix it?

I had an 03 with the same problem. They replaced the evap coil/expansion valve assembly under warranty. They said the valve was sticking. Mine only reared its ugly head with the fan on low speed in 75-80 degree weather.

I have the same problem. If I turn the A/C off and turn it to high(not max) and let the air come in through the frozen evap, I still get cool air. Then when it thaws out it starts to warm up and I can turn the A/C back on until it happens again. Mt dealer charged it with dye and cannot dind any leaks. They told me when they checked the pressure that it was fine, no leaks.

I also get where cold air comes out on the driver side but not the passenger side.

I will ask them about changing the evap/coil expansion valve, Thanks.

A memo(not Tsb)andf STAR is aware(tech assistance) on FIN TEMP SENSOR relocation for freeze up. Its a $30 part that requires just about removal of evaporator assy. and relocaton of it to a certain spot on evaporator. So many fins over and down etc. for example. The 05s and up its been relocated during assembly or on a new evaporator. Had mine relocated back in Feburary and have not driven on a long hiway trip since. Fixing to go to Nebraska in about 10 days so I guess I'll know during trip!
