I may have uncovered the latest tangle involving DC, Cummins and the C. A. R. B of the enemy state of California. I have ordered along with 20 others a 2500 (Calif model) from a dealer from out of state. I know, I should have guts to order a 49 state model but I did not want to tangle with the enviro police. I was informed by the dealer that a code stopping production of the calif model was in place. With further research I found out Cummins is waiting for the CARB to release their approval. As of this posting no date is known. Wednesday I drove over to a Dodge dealer close by to see if they had a 2500 on the lot. To my surprise they had one. Quickly I checked for any notice or label that indicated it was OK for Calif, nothing. I acted stupid with the salesman(not hard to do) I came to the conclusion that the dealer just ordered a 49 state 2500 and some unexpected buyer will probably get stuck between the state and the dealer. Question, if you see a dealer in Calif selling one look at the invoice tag and under the hood. Also if anyone from Cummins can confirm this problem let us know. By the way, I test drove the truck, it was GREAT. I can hardly wait. Gary Oo.

DMV laws & etc...

I guess the questions is how daring are we. There is alot of e-talk about buying a truck out of state and then working around the law and bringing into CA. At 38,000. 00 I think anyone would be very careful on what their next step would be. Still waiting for Cummins & the C. A. R. B. GC
